Community Owned Power

Generator Stations

^^ The Aim ^^

To build what will eventually become…

Community Owned Power

Generator Stations.

Not everyone is pro-wind-turbine, so we will be building hydro-power + solar power + tidal-power stations as well.

Typically each power station will produce enough power to supply…

50 to 250 Homes

Or the shop/office/factory equivalent.

We really do have to emphasise this point. We are NOT wedded to wind-turbines. Yes, of course there is a place for these, but a sizeableminority of folk are ant-wind-turbine.

=> Our job is to solve these problems and build actual generator stations which will then be structured for community ownership.

Before we get any grumpy folk saying this will ruin the beautiful village green! No, no no.

These urban turbines will be located on brownfield sites. Those are usually where old factories were or have dilapidated eyesore buildings that NEED to be renovated.

It does help for the community to be reasonably near to the wind turbine as there is a small power loss (and it costs money) the further away the turbine is.

The urban turbines in the photo above these paragraphs have been turning since 2006. They are on an industrial estate in a major city. Very few people were unhappy back in 2006, and we bet a fair few quid that if the surrounding neighbours had their electricity bills HALVED during these unsettling times and got to help save the planet into the bargain, then there would be fewer complaints. But time will tell.

We would only wish to build these projects IF a majority of a community wanted them.

Plus these do have to go through the Planning Process. As a real-world endeavour to show whether the impact is a problem, please have a look at our next photograph. The two wind turbines are in that picture. But they are on the same distant industrial estate as the first photo on this page. If that very modest addition to the view meant electricity and fuel prices for all the houses and business in this photo were HALVED, is that a balance you would like to support? You can actually help us by TEXTING: YES TURBINE or NO TURBINE (in general terms, not yet project specific, to our main phone at: 0757 2768 795. Thanks.

Welcome To

This page is us getting the website architecture sorted out and created. Whilst writing this, a message came through from an old friend who specialises in commissioning and decommissioning wind turbines.

That is the last piece of the jigsaw.

What jigsaw? You may ask.

The one where we sort out a location + planning permission + land and generator station purchase and installation of an urban wind turbine that will provide a target of 100% of the electricity to local homes in whichever town is next to seek this facility.

Crucially to provide at a price which matches what we were all being charged a year ago before utility (and vehicle fuel) prices went up so dramatically.

The aim is to get electricity bills down to where they used to be a and remove the worry from the imminent turbo-charged price-hikes.

Plus provide either free or low-cost electric vehicle charging points.

How? You may ask?

Ironically, our Unique Property Bulletin website (here) has got us into mischief where our associated unique property clubs ended up owning SIX different engine houses/ generator stations in the past 35 years.

So it is a very small step to buy another generator station and install an electricity-genertor-turbine next to one of these. This should help to sort out the electricity price carnage.

There is a huge amount of work to do. Plus answer many questions.

For now, this page has been placed here as a central point for those who want to pay LESS in electricity and fuel prices to find out more information each update.

Eventually this urban-turbine project will have its own website. But we are still in the same month as when Putin turned off the majority of Europe and the UK’s energy supply from his country and the result is sky-rocketing electricity costs.

We aim to remedy that and fast.

So, by piggy-backing off of our Scotslion website for the time being, we can start researching the project, completing due-diligence, locating a site, obtaining expedited planning permission and buying a wind turbine. All of this means you will be able to follow developments on Facebook and Twitter etc.

Not just household and business electricity prices; we aim to supply electricity for electric cars at an affordable rate.

Today, 25th March 2022, you are paying something like this to fill up your car, motorbike, van, or lorry…

Even if you do not drive, your food, your post, your parcels travel to your house in lorries and vans. They usually run on diesel. That price is added to whatever you buy. So we ALL feel this pain.

Far better that WE ALL do something about this.

The Urban-Turbine initiative is a plan to sort out this problem and effectively price the equivalent electricity more in line with what we are used to…

^^^ Our Aim ^^^

If You Have A Local Urban-Turbine Then

You Have An Affordable Electricity For Your Vehicle

Okay, the photo has petrol prices, but we are inevitably all going to be driving electric vehicles soon enough. The point is well made by this price comparison between the two photos above.

Crucially these turbines will be managed and indeed where possible, owned by the local community.

The first physical manifestation of our urban-turbine initiative will effectively be a “proof of concept” exercise. Then, if your town or city fancies doing what our neighbours in Dundee did by placing two wind turbines in an urban environment, we are game-on to help make that happen for your and your town.

Pease check back to this page and regularly for updates.

Very best wishes,

Russ McLean, Director, Scotslion Ltd.

of this urban-turbine electricity price reduction initiative.

We will advise whether NFP Ltd

or Registered Charity format soon.

This project is NOT about whacking out profits, it IS to make sure people can eat and heat. In 1997 our main director lost a friend through debt suicide and NEVER ever want that to happen again. We managed to do a small part in sorting that problem (here) and are determined to remedy the current electricity hikes and fuel increases. You may need to buy an electric car earlier than anticipated so you can access cheap miles again, buy hey, surely that’s a good thing.

For An Urban-Turbine

Electricity Bill Reducing Initiative

Power House For Auction. Guide: £55,000. In Mid Glamorgan, Wales. Perfect. We are already looking to buy one of these in or close to our own HQ office here at Arbroath, Scotland. The plan is for 10 of us to buy a big wind turbine together between us and get the town’s electricity supply back to 11p a unit instead of punitive Putin electricity spiked rate of 68p a unit. The UK invented things like railway engines and anti-biotics and the electric motor and the world wide web and… well you get the picture. Or you will when you can afford electricity again! So for a friends in Wales… fy ffrind yng ngwlad odidog Cymru, if you fancy a race to see which town in the UK can get their electricity bills back to normality by parking two electricity wind turbines by a power house first, best get bidding: https://www.cliveemson.co.uk/properties/232/28 With respect to all of our friends curious about this “Urban-Turbine” initiative, we had thought about naming it an “Electricity Justice” campaign, but that didn’t seem to fit what we want to achieve.

Regular Updates

Here are the links to the current social media news. These are piggy-backed onto our own social media until we open the new HQ building and can provide an office for our volunteers on this urban-turbine electricity bill reducing initiative…

How hard can it be to get electricity bills down

from 68 pence to nearer the old 11 pence per unit?

Please check back to this page, or our sister website: Unique Property Bulletin. If the words “GENERATOR STATION” or “URBAN-TURBINE appear in any article, then that is good news. We are now actively looking for suitable sites to build urban-turbines and..

Cure this electricity price hike problem.
