Conditions Satisfied. Work began within 3 weeks (as opposed to the 3 year Planning Permission condition). The council officials observed and noted this 3 week commencement event. An important element as this makes the Planning Permission “enduring” (lifelong – as long as it takes – no limits). The permission states “work must be commenced within 3 years of permission being granted”. We have already satisfied that condition . There is no end date requirement. Just as well, because Covid caused problems and delays to the entire industry. We were relatively unscathed as there is NO mortgage on the hotel. Though elsewhere in the UK as hotels were limited in trading during the pandemic and several did not survive. Those hotels that were heavily mortgaged ended up being flogged off in a disgraceful banking conduct similar to the notorious RBS scandal (here).
